Tier 1 is a competitive grade and Tier 2 could be seen as more of a social cricket experience. JUNIOR CRICKET (BOYS AND GIRLS)
Our club delivers the Cricket Blast program that is for Junior players who have perhaps never played cricket before. The next step up is the U10 competition for players aged 7-9 years of age. This is fun and action packed cricket played in short games with modified rules. The program runs for 8 weeks before the Christmas break and then again for 8 weeks after the break.
This season the Club in conjunction with Queensland Cricket is offering an "All Girls League" competition for girls aged 9-14 years. Matches in this league will be played on a Sunday.
We then offer regular mixed (male and female) Junior Cricket competition in U11's, U13's, U15's and U17's. The playing division is determined by the child's age as at the 31st August prior to the Season start. eg 14 years old on the 31st August would put the child in Under 15 division. .
Junior players can apply to play above or below their age group depending on their level of maturity, ability and experience. The relevant age-group coordinator or Coaches will assist you in determining which division your child should play in. Please note that not all requests for preferred age groups or teams can be accommodated.
As the older Junior Cricketers gain confidence and skills they are encouraged to fill in as needed for Senior Teams. Some Juniors start playing both Junior and Senior Cricket regularly each weekend. Players must be at least 13 years of age and of suitable maturity to play Senior Cricket. Our Club does not charge any extra fees for Registered Juniors playing up in Seniors.
Junior matches are on Saturday mornings and training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week during the playing season. Club Uniforms must be worn on match days and these can be purchased from the Club. A Club Playing shirt and a Training shirt will be supplied to all registered players.
